Read: E-mail marketing as if you were trying to get into a nightclub

On the Email Ethics blog, Anton Panaitesco (International Project Manager at Cabestan) you can read an excellent article entitled: " Email marketing is like a night out in a club!

Quick summary/translation:

Anton Panaitesco's e-mail is called John, and he wants to score in a nightclub. To score, John dresses well, he looks good. He wants to be as attractive as possible, is the creation.

To begin with, he has to arrive at the night club safely, is the deliverability. He is in front of the box, waiting his turn.

When he arrives in front of the doorman (the anti-spam filter), he checks that he is well dressed (html tidy), that he has never fought in the club (reputation) and is free of drugs or other illegal substances (content verification).

When he entered the box (mail) he spots pretty girls, if he already knows them, they are clientsOtherwise, they are leads.

He then puts into practice his flirting technique (mail subject). If he lies about himself, he is a scammer. If he is too mysterious, he risks losing his interlocutor's attention. If he is too long, he becomes boring. In summary, your flirting technique should be short, interesting and dynamic.

Reading content isn't everything. The best way is to talk to us.

If the girl continues to talk with John, it wins a click. But he still has to do a lot of things to score.

He must try to continue the conversationto know the tastes of the girl, what she wants ... this the web analytics.

If he doesn't manage to score that night, all the information he will manage to collect will be used to be more efficient for another night with this same girl.

Email marketing is about trying to score with a lot of girls in one night.

The original version (which is certainly much better than this quick translation) can be found here: Email marketing is like a night out in a club!

P.s. Do you know an equivalent of scorer (to score) in French? To obtain a result?

  1. the word "to score" here is used differently, you will use it to say, to gain the most attention, in other words "to gain the most of".
otherwise your translation is good, except that at the end, it does not include only girls but boys too, e mail marketing, The most people possible!!! But a good comparison!!:D
