The first thing I like about this email is that I'm a real AllTrails user. An app that allows me to plan mountain hiking outings and not get lost in the vast Pyrenees 😉
Turning to the content of the message, it's both a very sober, simple, no-frills design which attracts me, but also the very direct writing style, which doesn't do any unnecessary teasing. This email contains exactly the information you'd expect to find when you open it.
Coming back to the designThe top of the email is extremely simple. You're taken straight to the logo and a visual of the application. Two levels of headings are proposed, a main one, and several sub-headings that clearly state the new features. The CTAs are visible, albeit basic (blue text, underlined, what else). We are on a single-column emailSo, in response, it's just perfect.
At the level of the writingIt's not perfect, but let's talk about the positives first. Descriptive, simple and direct. There are (almost) no unnecessary words in this email (the subject line may be a little too long).
Nevertheless, it's clear that the text is undoubtedly a simple translation of the English version. The imperative is used, but not everywhere. There's a sense ofa text that was undoubtedly finely written in English, but whose translation was slightly off the mark of the original spirit.
Thanks to AllTrails for all these new features. I'll definitely be renewing my subscription 😉
